What is Spinal Decompression?

Spinal Decompression is a non-surgical, non-invasive treatment for certain types of back-related pain. Decompression uses computer-assisted biofeedback loop technology that allows the spine to be slowly & gently decompressed, taking pressure off of nerves. By applying mechanical traction and controlling the force and angle of disc distraction, a computer reduces the body's natural tendency to resist external forces. This provides significant advantage over traditional traction tables by avoiding the natural reaction of resistance and muscle spasms allowing water, oxygen and nutrients to flow back into the problem area which enhances the body's natural healing response. Through the action of spinal decompression, the underlying nerve irritation is reduced providing symptomatic relief - all without having risky surgery.

What kinds of conditions are treatable with Spinal Decompression?

This procedure may be right for you if you suffer from:

  • chronic back or neck pain
  • disc bulges and herniations
  • spinal stenosis
  • spondylolisthesis
  • radiculopathy patterns
  • sciatica
  • retrolisthesis

What if I've had back/neck surgery before? Is this treatment available to me?

Even after certain types of surgical procedures, decompression may still be a treatment option. People who have had surgical interventions with the use of metal spinal implants are NOT candidates for this treatment. Other conditions may also disqualify patients including, but not limited to, recent spinal fracture.

Is Spinal Decompression covered by insurance?

Unfortunately, at this time, non-surgical spinal decompression is not covered by insurance.

How many Spinal Decompression treatments will I need and how much does it cost?

Decompression treatment programs are determined on a case-by-case basis so cost will vary from patient to patient. It is best to contact us to schedule a FREE, No-obligation consultation at 715-423-3020.

How do I know if I am a candidate for Spinal Decompression?

The first step is to call the office at 715-423-3020 to set up a consultation with the doctor (there is NO CHARGE for the consultation). When you call, please have the name(s) and location(s) of clinics where you have had any x-ray(s) or MRI(s) done of the area of concern (e.g. neck, lower back) as we will need to request those studies. Once these studies are received and the doctor has reviewed them, we will contact you to schedule a date and time for your consultation. During the consultation the doctor will go over your current concern along with any imagining (e.g. x-ray, MRI) that he has reviewed and advise you if you are a candidate for decompression.
